Role Overview: Quality Assurance Technologist at Kerry

As a Quality Assurance Technologist at Kerry, you’ll sit at the heart of the organisation’s commitment to food safety excellence and quality management. Your daily work directly influences the safety, consistency, and quality of products consumed by billions of people worldwide — making this a genuinely meaningful and impactful technical career.

You’ll provide critical technical input and expert advisory support to operational teams, ensuring Kerry’s Food Management System (KFMS) requirements and all customer specifications are consistently maintained, continuously enhanced, and embedded deeply into factory workflows.

Working alongside technical, operations, and cross-functional colleagues, you’ll build effective professional relationships, establish credibility as a quality champion, and actively promote a food safety and quality-first culture throughout the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System Compliance

Ensure rigorous compliance with Kerry’s comprehensive Quality Management System across all production activities — monitoring standards, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements that maintain the highest possible quality benchmarks throughout the manufacturing process.

Health, Safety and Risk Management

Maintain exemplary safe working practices by completing thorough risk assessments and managing Health & Safety action plans consistently. At Kerry, safety is everyone’s shared responsibility — and as QA Technologist, you’ll model this commitment daily.

Factory Standards Monitoring

Conduct regular factory checks and detailed assessments to monitor adherence to established production and quality standards, identifying deviations early and implementing corrective measures before issues escalate into significant problems.

Customer Requirements Implementation

Receive, interpret, and successfully embed new and updated customer requirements into existing factory systems and operational workflows — ensuring Kerry consistently meets and exceeds the evolving specifications of its extensive client base.

Customer Complaints Management

Conduct thorough reviews of customer complaints data to identify recurring trends, root causes, and systemic issues. Work collaboratively with Operations teams to develop robust complaint action plans and drive their full implementation across relevant departments.

Root Cause Investigation and Corrective Actions

Coordinate structured investigations into quality failures and non-conformances, applying proven methodologies to identify root causes accurately and implement sustainable corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

Taste Panel Review

Review taste panel results systematically, tracking the effectiveness of corrective actions taken to address sensory quality issues — ensuring product profiles consistently meet customer and consumer expectations.

Reporting and Documentation

Ensure accurate, timely completion of all quality performance reports for customers and internal stakeholders, maintaining comprehensive improvement plans, schedules, and KPI tracking documentation.

HACCP Management

Ensure all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) requirements are properly applied, documented, and maintained across all relevant production areas — a fundamental pillar of Kerry’s food safety framework.

Non-Conformance Management

Raise non-conformances promptly and actively drive their closure through cross-functional collaboration with Operations teams — aligning on corrective actions, verifying completion, and maintaining accurate records throughout.

Concession and Life Extension Management

Manage concession and life extension requests efficiently, confirming all required actions are completed appropriately and within agreed timescales to minimise production disruption.

Production Support Activities

Oversee and actively assist with FPA (First Production Assessments), KQA (Kerry Quality Audits), and RMI (Raw Material Inspections) activities during production shifts — providing hands-on technical support that keeps quality standards consistently high.

Continuous Improvement Contribution

Gather performance data, maintain improvement schedules, and provide regular KPI updates that enable continuous quality improvement and maintain organisational focus on excellence across all production metrics.
